An old manuscript plan of Savannah, Georgia, during the siege of the city by French and American forces in 1779, as Savannah had been captured by the British in 1778. The Franco-American contingent under the command of General Charles Hector, comte d’Estaing ultimately failed to capture the city and withdrew. Map title FR: “Siège de Savannah fait par les Troupes françoises aux Ordres du Général d'Estaing Vice-Amiral de France, en 7. ~bre, et 8. ~bre 1779”.
