Pictorial manuscript watercolor map of the Isthmus of Panama, designed and drawn around 1930 by B. Ashburton Tripp. The central piece of the layout is beautifully encircled and bordered by vignettes and insets of illustrations containing historical settlements and places of interest, and portraits of six of the main explorers and conquistadors associated with the region — Christopher Columbus, Sir Frances Drake, Sir Henry Morgan, Francisco Pizarro, Rodrigo de Bastidas, and Vasco Núñez de Balboa.
