A detailed hand-drawn colored map of the area known today as Throggs Neck or Throgs Neck in the the Bronx. During the American Revolutionary War both American and British armies referred to the area as Frog’s Neck. This beautiful survey depicts the landing and route of march of the British Army and Hessian forces commanded by General William Howe in an attempt to cut off Washington’s Continental Army. The plan was surveyed and drawn by the brilliant Charles Blaskowitz.
