A pen-and-ink sketch, depicting the recently acquired by the English New York, formerly New Amsterdam, in 1679. The drawing shows the docks and City Hall (Stadthuys), located at the corner of Pearl Street and Coenties Slip (Coentijs Slip). The original view was a part of Jasper Danckaerts & Peter Sluyter’s Journal Of A Voyage To New York In 1679-80, and was later redrawn by Benson John Lossing to be included as an illustration in President Woodrow Wilson’s 1902 A History of the American People (vol. I-V).
