A museum quality reproduction of a Hessian sketch of the Battle of Trenton, New Jersey, made in 1776 by Lieutenant Andreas von Wiederholdt. Wiederholdt was a participant in the battle and a commander of an outpost on the side of the British, from the Hessian Regiment of Lieutenant General Knyphausen. Hand drawn in pen-and-ink, the map includes a detailed ‘Explanation’ key and a title which reads: Sketch of the engagement at Trenton, given on the 26th of December 1776 betwixt the American Troops under Command of General Washington, and three Hessian Regiments under Command of Colonell Rall, in which the latter a part surrendert themselves prisoner of War.
